Designing a Multi-Platform Mobility Ecosystem: A Technical Perspective on Revolutionizing Public Transportation in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic, a beautiful Caribbean nation, has long grappled with significant challenges in its public transportation system. To address these difficulties, an ambitious project called “Mobility” has taken shape. This project aims to create a suite of applications that will revolutionize public transportation in the country, providing solutions for both users and service operators. In this article, we will delve into the pivotal role of a Product Designer and UX professional in this exciting endeavor.

My role as a Product designer during the elaboration of this project
I worked on creating engaging and functional user interfaces for mobile applications, the web platform, the operations management app, and the dashboard.
I conducted in-depth interviews with real users of public transportation in the Dominican Republic to understand their needs and frustrations, which informed the design of the applications.
I implemented AB tests to evaluate different design approaches and features, with the goal of identifying which designs and features worked best for users.
I worked on incorporating meaningful cultural elements into the design of the applications to reflect the culture of public transportation in the Dominican Republic.
